REIS
Born in Asti, Italy, in 1990, the artist graduated from Pinot Gallizio Art High School in Alba in 2009 before embarking on a transformative journey that would shape his creative vision.
His artistic awakening began in Sydney, Australia, where in February 2010 he published his first work, a limited series of eight comic satirical postcards. This initial success launched an epic sea voyage from Singapore across Asia and the Middle East, with heavy Moleskines and worn-out shoes as his constant companions. These countries and experiences became profound sources of inspiration, ultimately leading him home to Savona, Italy.
In August 2010, he opened his first exhibition, SENZA SCHEMI, during the Controfestival musical event in Castagnole delle Lanze, marking the beginning of his professional artistic career.
GF Arts was born in 2011; a dedicated illustration project uniting style, technique, and interpretation of client-commissioned themes. That same year, he presented SENZA SCHEMI Volume II at the Movicentro in Bra and designed the prestigious 2012 plate for the Unione Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo, commissioned by restaurant La Contea in Neive.
His work gained momentum through collaborations with Il Barattolo di Neive in 2012, where SENZA SCHEMI vol. II was exhibited throughout the historic streets of Neive. He also partnered with artisanal brewery CitaBiunda, creating "M.i.l.f. - Mamma Italia Libera e Fallita" artwork designed for screen printing on t-shirts in tribute to their dark beer M.I.L.F.
The summer of 2012 brought exhibitions in Tuscany with association Il Risveglio, followed by his signature work Inovamagination for Studio Gallo. November 2012 marked a significant milestone with the VOX POPULI exhibition in Turin during Paratissima 8, and December began his collaboration with PTM Group S.r.l., producing storyboards and cartoons.
After exhibiting at the Barbera Wine Festival "Di cortile in cortile" in May 2013, the artist entered a period of artistic dormancy, redirecting his passion toward food and wine. For fifteen years, he immersed himself in restaurant culture, from waiter to manager, gaining invaluable experience in what became both profession and lifestyle. Though artistic production during this period remained sporadic and private, the creative urge never fully disappeared.
Art eventually called him back. The decision to transform his life led to his rebirth in 2025 as Reis, a name carrying dual meaning between "culprit" and the Piedmontese translation of "root."
Reis - Studio Del Rey represents the artist and his multidisciplinary creative space. April 2025 witnessed the birth of the POPPIES© project: paintings that masterfully blend pop-symbolist industrial style with design plasticity, launching multiple planned series.
The Yellow Pop series will debut in Paris at Espace Miromesnil gallery in June 2025, featured in the exhibition "La Couleur du Rêve" in collaboration with Platinum Collection.
In november 2025 tree POPPIES© series were exhibit in Moncalieri during the ParatissimaXX Kosmos event, a collective counting 450 artists in the evocative Real Collegio Carlo Alberto spaces. During the event Reis won a special talent prize.
December 2025 seen the artist showing Demons and Miracolo in the first edition of DRAWINGS, site in the Contemporary Spaces in the Tourin centre.
Between December 2025 and January 2026, Reis designed Kidscoesi for COESISTERE. The artists selected must showcase a 20×20cm works dedicated to the coexistence theme. The exhibition venue was in Venice, host by Galleria Itinerarte, in the evocative Dorsoduro district. In her critical essay, Alessandra Redaelli defined Reis opera as neosurrealist.
He continues to live and work in Neive, where his artistic journey comes full circle.
